
MILLWRIGHT (Equipment Install)
Position Summary:
Install equipment
for the work stations IAW the facility plan.
Major Duties:
- A maintenance mechanic who rigs, installs,
services, moves and dismantles equipment and machinery
and performs such other work as not specifically designated
under other maintenance classifications. Includes
moving and locating machines and equipment according
to floor plan; installing, rearranging and removing
overhead line shafting, mechanical handling systems,
hoists, etc.
- Use such tools and equipment as drill
presses, power saws, chain falls, jacks, skids, slings,
burning torches, and other types of portable and hand
tools.
- When required, should be able to plan,
layout and complete work with a minimum of supervision.
May be assisted by helpers.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Must have completed an apprenticeship
program or have eight (8) years of documented experience
in the trade or have graduated from a vocational/technical
school in the Millwright Curriculum.
- Job requirements: Uses such tools
and equipment as drill presses, power saws, chain
saws, jacks, skids, slings, burning torches, and other
types of portable and hand tools. When required, should
be able to plan, layout and complete work with a minimum
of supervision. May be assisted by helpers. May also
be required to handle/manage hazardous waste from
time to time.
