M1A2 AGT 1500 MAINTENANCE TRAINER

Position Summary:
• Functions as a M1A2 engine mechanic and M1A2 AGT 1500 maintenance instructor to RSLF mechanics.

Major Duties:

  • Responsible for maintaining a log on all warranted engines that have been repaired and returned from CONUS.
  • Conducts troubleshooting of engines to determine repair needs.
  • Prepares lesson material and OGJT to RSLF mechanics using appropriate technical manuals.
  • Assists in the repair or rebuild of engines.
  • Identifies parts required to effect repairs.
  • Assists in the calibration and use of special tools.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Graduation from a U.S. Army basic non-commissioned officer course (BNCOC) shall be deemed as equivalent.
  • Must have certificate of course completion in a U.S. Army organizational direct support or general support M1 series tank maintenance course. Must have at least 10 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing engines.
  • Desirable to have attained the rank of Sergeant First Class (SFC/E-7) and have held a military occupational specialty of 63E or 63H.
