COMBAT FOCUS SHOOTING
Designed to help you become the most intuitive and efficient
shooter you can be in the context of a dynamic critical
incident.
The Combat Focus Shooting Program (CFS) is an intuitive
shooting program designed to work efficiently with the
body's natural reactions during a dynamic critical incident.
Unlike many traditional programs, CFS does not take
a purely mechanical approach to shooting by training
in isolation from the context in which the skill must
be used. CFS is not simply "point shooting,"
it is a training methodology that leads to more efficient
defensive shooting skill.
Combat Focus Shooting is the core of IRM’s shooting
program and certified instructors around the United
States and Europe are teaching it. CFS has been successfully
integrated into various military, law enforcement, and
security training programs, and courses have been taught
in over 30 locations, including: California, Colorado,
Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan,
Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Tennessee,
Texas, Czech Republic, Germany, Switzerland, and the
United Kingdom.
Colorado C.C.W Permit
Based on our Combat Focus Shooting Program this one-day
course exceeds Colorado State’s prerequisites
to obtain a concealed carry permit.
Colorado Statute 18-12-203.
Criteria for obtaining a permit.
(h)Demonstrates competence
with a handgun by submitting:
(VI) A training certificate from a handgun training
class...The applicant shall submit the original training
certificate or a photocopy thereof that includes the
original signature of the class instructor. In obtaining
a training certificate from a handgun training class,
the applicant shall have discretion in selecting which
handgun training class to complete.
In
addition to the core elements of the Combat Focus Shooting
Program, participants will learn the various Colorado
State laws pertaining to concealed carry, as well as
options for concealed carry, and how to efficiently
draw your weapon from a concealed carry position.
All participants MUST pass the shooting test at the
end of the program in order to receive their certificate
of training. Enrollment in the course DOES NOT guarantee
your success. YOU must prove your ability to safely
carry, draw and efficiently engage your target. IRM
prides itself in not “handing out” our CCW
training certificates. All graduates of our CCW course
have demonstrated safety and proficiency concepts with
a concealed firearm and leave the course knowing that
should a dynamic critical incident happen to them…they
will be ready.
IRM’s shooting instructors bring years of firearms
training experience to our courses. Our instructors
are former military Special Operations soldiers and
police officers who have taught civilians, law enforcement,
and US and foreign military units. In addition to being
Certified Combat Focus Shooting instructors, our instructors
